Chief of Staff’s Family Reunion

Col. Rick Nelson, right, the Chief of Staff for Iraq-based Multi-National Force West, had a chance to meet with his son, 1st Lt. Andrew Nelson, during a visit to the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit. 1st. Lt. Nelson is the platoon commander for Engineer Platoon, Headquarters and Support Company, Battalion Landing Team, 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 22nd MEU. 1st. Lt. Nelson is a native of Camp Lejeune, N.C. The MEU is aboard Camp Buehring, Kuwait, conducting sustainment training. The 22nd MEU is serving as the theater reserve force for U.S. Central Command.
